Attendance
We are continuing to encourage students to be here everyday and on-time. This year's theme is "We Don't Monkey Around . . . We Come to School On Time!"
Every student who has perfect attendance (no tardies/no absences) for each 9-week grading period receives a prize, a Chick-Fil-A Attendance Certificate and coupon for a free Ice-Dream, and is recognized by having his/her name posted on the Perfect Attendance display in the front hallway near the main office and also posted near the door of his/her classroom.
If a student has perfect attendance for the entire school year (four 9-week grading periods), his/her name will be put in a drawing for a brand-new bike to be awarded at the end of the year. "Free bike" commercials featuring students and staff are run during the Morning Announcements to help motivate students to be here and on-time. Also, students with Perfect Attendance for the year will be recognized during the Awards Assemblies at the end of the school year.
In addition to the schoolwide incentives, an administrator randomly selects one student from the primary grades and one student from the intermediate during the Morning Announcements. If that student is here, seated by the bell, and ready to work, he/she gets an On-Time Arrival prize.
Regular school attendance is KEY to a child's success in school. If a student is not here, he/she cannot learn. Thank you for your support in getting your child to school everyday and on-time!
CRCT Attendance
CRCT testing is coming up in April. Let's continue to have great attendance here at Birney. We will have other incentives in place during CRCT testing. Individual students and classes are rewarded for perfect attendance during CRCT testing.
